External hard drive with locked folders

ive just made the switch to mac


Ive got all my music/pics videos on an external hard drive that ive been uisng with my windows machine for a few years.


Ive plugged this into my mac thinking id be able to use it nor probs but the folders are locked and i cant access them or modify them

Ive tried unlocking them in windows ,disabling the read only but as soon as i plug it back into my mac it locks itself again


As anyone any ideas as to how i can unlock the folders acess/modify them?

Their probably in NTFS format, if this is the case, you'll need something like Paragon installed in OS X to be able to access read/write options on the external NTFS drive.

Last thing....how do i go about having my Itunes library located on the external Hard drive?
