external hardrive causing interference on tv out port

My tvout works great with no interference on the tv. But then as soon as i plug in my external hardrive to the usb port i get interference on the tv. I have tryed using different ports on my laptop but makes no difference. Is there anything i can do?

is the tv ariel solder or is it just simply sat in the connection most case of EMC are due to bad connectors on the tv ariel side of things

sorry i dont understand what you mean? the laptop is connected via a tv out port to scart lead. the picture is perfect on the tv untill you plug in an external drive to the laptop then there is interference.
