I have an external HD with about 200G of data on it. I wanted to do a fresh install of windows on my machine, but instead of doing it straight onto my internal HD, I thought I'd create a partition on my external and build a fresh install on that first so I still had a working operating system while I installed all my drivers programs etc...
Anyway, after using partition magic to create a small partition, windows then told me it cannot install on USB connected HDs. Fair enough. I deleted the partition. But now when I try to explore my data on the external HD I can't. It says I need to format it. However partition manager can explore it. Is there any way of getting windows to recognise it again, or am I going to have to copy all my data again?
Thanks
