Hello,
I have an external HDD where I store the files for any virtual machines I use with Virtual Box. I set the VPC's up when the drive was lettered as "K" whcih is fine but I use a lot of other drives and flash memory devices so sometimes when I turn on the HDD with the VPC date on it, it does not show up as "K".

Is there any way I can sort of reserve the "K" lettering and only allow the computer to set "K" to be my external HDD when it is switched on?

All my external drives, be it a maxtor Basic 320Gb, 2/4/8Gb USB Flash drives remember what drive letters I set them to in 'computer management... okay the first time you plug em in its a bit messy... but if you can plug em all in at once and then re-arrange the letters, next time they're plugged in windows should remember what drive letters were assigned!!..

at least my copy of Vista64 does!.. :)

this^^

WinXP Vista And Win7 all work this way.

May be worth giving it a 'high' letter so that no other drive will automatically get assigned that letter when it's not connected. E.g. give it V: or something.

Thats a good idea. Might try that if what was said above fails. If I change the drive letter from "K", then the virtual pc I have setup in Virtualbox is unable to be changed from what I can see. Any ideas on how I can do that?
