Ive just purchased an external hdd case off ebay and it wasnt a cheap one. The problem ive had is that it came with a SATA to SATA cable to connect it to the pc. Ive now found out that i need eSATA to SATA (SATA being the socket on the hdd case and eSATA on my pc case).
Ive been in touch with the guy who i bought it off and he says its because only the latest stuff has eSATA but i dont remember my older pcs or laptops having SATA only sockets on them in which case i would have to remove my side pannel from my pc case to get the drive working which kind of goes against it being an external hard drive in my opinion.
Surley they were all USB on the older stuff so am i right to argue about this or am i wrong??
Hope you can understand what i mean
