Just purchased a 13" air with Apple's interest free finance deal and was looking for a decent 1tb external HDD to use alongside it.

Any suggestions? Under £100 would be perfect

The only limitation is the file format, as OSX cannot write to NFTS. I use exFAT which both OSX and Windows can read/write to but doesn't suffer from the limitations of FAT32.

Also if you want to use the 1TB drive as a time machine you will need to format it as HFS+, or at least have a partition formatted as such.

It's not really a limitation since some drives comes with paragons NTFS writter software. Even if it doesn't you just purchase it.

I'd describe it as a limitation if it can't natively support a file system. You can purchase a driver to write to NFTS, granted, but it is still a limitation (much like I'd describe Windows not supporting HFS as a limitation).

If the OP is cheap like me the solution is to use exFAT :p
