External HDD odd behavior

Hello guys,

I have an old issue with my External HDD Seagate Expansion Portable Drive 500 Gb. When I reboot PC when it is plugged in or just reconnect it, it becomes available only in 5-10 mins and during that time I have to hear plug and unplug windows sound every few seconds. After that it works fine (for several years by the way). The most interesting thing is that plugging it to another PC or MAC does not reproduce the issue. I thought that my USB ports (MSI H110M GAMING) are not supporting enough voltage somehow and bought USB hub with its own power supply. But as it could be guessed, problem was not resolved. Now I'm just curious what's going on

In my experience some of those powered USB hubs can be useless. I had one and had the same issues with an external memory card reader - constant disconnect/connecting sounds. This only got resolved when I upgraded my motherboard.
