As far as I'm aware there are no caddies which allow the connection of IDE drives over eSATA. There are caddies which support both types of drive and have USB and eSATA connections but only the USB works with IDE drives.
can a USB drive boot into windows ok then? Cos I get the BSOD when I try to boot up windows with a ide drive iin a usb external enclosure, using my current system. Hopefully in a few days I sould have a new system.
