External Monitor for laptop

Hi all,

Looking for an external relatively portable screen I can use for a new laptop.

Never used an external screen before, but saw a mate using one and I always like having lots of screen space so seems a good investment.

I don't know if the computer needs to have particualar graphics cards or something to manage a second screen, but this is what I have coming from PCS:
