Hi all,
I have a problem, I have a lovely legion 5 pro which is great but I am now going to working from home (autocad), my work has supplied me the a 14 hp elite book in 1080, I have an old lg 23 inch 1080 IPS monitor but would like to get some new ones.
I would like one large screen but I only have a small 600mm depth desk at home, so I'm wondering would a qhd1440p monitor work with the 1080 laptop through the week then switch to the legion 5 on the weekends?.
My current LG seems to show the pixels with being a bit closer. I can't find any solid info if the 1080 will display ok in the 1440.
Thanks for any advice.
Mark
I'm stuck here on what to do

The HP laptop should be able to display at 1440p on a 1440p monitor (unless it is an ancient laptop with an integrated GPU :p).

With that setup it might be worth seeing if you can get a monitor with a built-in KVM - that way you can keep both laptops connected and just change the monitor input to switch between them

Hi, the work supplied monitor is a elite book 840 g6, after finding the specs it should be fine at 1440 as it ha hdmi 1.4b and a usb 3.1 type c thunderbolt support and the docking station has display port.
I'm thinking of buying the LG 27gl850-b.
I'm many years behind on equipment , the legion pro was s big jump, my current monitor is s LG ips234, many years old but still works fine
