Basically, I have acquired a few parking spaces in a supermarket car park for a few days to do some promotions.

This is located near an external power socket which I am able to use.

Would I be able to use this and get an adapter to change it to a standard plug type connector?

You'd expect there to be a converter out there somewhere. It won't be cheap though. Those caravan type connectors are quite large and have to be water tight and what not.

Its a 240v socket (blue = 240 yellow = 110v)
Google male 240v plug. Buy some flex and a female plastic housed socket. Bingo
Should cost less than a tenner

Yeah u want one of these..

Although being outside id get the socket end with an IP Rated enclosure

Just a note.. Make sure u get the right size plug for the blue 240v end ;) they come in various sized for various loads.

Ok thanks, guys I already have some of the Round connectors and cables knocking about. Would It be safe to Cut the cable and just wire in the standard connector myself?

Aslong as u 100% know what ur doing and nobody knew u did it i wouldn't call an issue. but if they require a P.A.T Testing cert/label on ur equipment to use there distribution ur pretty ****** :) Then you would struggle.

Could just get it PAT tested then? Takes like 30 seconds

If u want to pay someone like me to do a 30 second job at quite a premium cost then he sure could.. but for what its worth i would tell someone not to bother unless specifically asked for it.

They wouldn't like that type of lead anyhow as ur not really meant to do it without proper enclosures and right cable etc as its IP Rated stuff

Heck i have one with a transformer inside and a micro usb lead coming out of it :') How would u P.A.T test that.. It charges my phone so it works am sure of it
