I'm having issues getting my X1800XT to detect my tv via my s-video cable.

As an interim solution, I was wondering if a HDD I have in an external casing that connects via usb would be detecable by my ps2?

Would I be able to play avis/xvids that are on it?

My ps2 isn't modded

Cheers :)

Yes but its slower than internal the ps2s ports are usb 1 only. You will have to install linux on the ps2 first and will need software for it to access the hdd. Easier option is to tell the x1800xt to force detection of the tv.

Tried that and every other thing I can think of, worked before my last reinstall of xp, so I'm worried that my tvout port is busted :(

you might want to check the region configuration, for some reason my x1800XT keeps setting itself to NTSC when were PAL, i contacted my provider all they said pretty much was just keep changing it back which made me very annoyed
