Our bathroom currently has a small, noisy, ceiling mounted fan that vents (I'm told) via an air brick through the cavity. The house is currently covered in scaffold, so I feel like it's a good time to upgrade this as it's easy to access the top of the gable at the moment.
I plan to swap the ceiling mounted fan for an inline axial one but also want to change the external venting. I don't want some naff looking white flappy vent up there though. Is it a good idea to get a double brick (actual) brick vent (like cavity wall vents) with a thing attached to the back to take a duct from the fan?

As you can probably tell from my 'is it a good idea' and 'thing's that I'm not really sure the right terms to search for for this.
