Extra 45bhp at the push of a button

How the hell does that work and how can people get away with such things... :p

I think it increases the amount of fuel going into the engine. Doesn't increase performance, but uses more fuel and will increase idling. At least, I think that's what it does.

With just 4 tie wraps, two sticky pads, some 12AWG wire and a 20p switch from craplin i can unleash 45bhp!

Poo the bed, no chance im saving for a turbo conversion now if thats going to be just as good!

Most cases the "chips" (or resistors in most cases) fiddle with the readings from MAF sensors or similar, tricking the ECU into thinking its being given more air than it actually is, and hence increasing fueling to compensate.

Result: Increased MPG, coked up plugs, and naff all gains.

Roffles, a resistor setup. Boosts the reading from the MAF sensor, car thinks there is more air, runs richer.

Modern ECU's re-map themselves via the lambda probe and cancel those things out in about 1 week tho.

My car has a switch which DOES give my 45 more bhp. It's called the ignition. :p :D

Your car makes 45BHP, what is it, a MK1 corsa 1.2 :(

FIAT Uno Start ie (Completely unmodified).

999cc, 900Kg, 50mpg if you thrash it.

And it nails 1.2 Corsas, Fiestas, etc (Weight is the key).

It's a really slack one tho So it's more like 50bhp now.

its simple!

fact it says race mode is easily good enough for another 40hp, it lights up for another 5hp

if 45hp extra is the difference between economy and exhilarating performance, then you're either in a 2cv or got more to worry about than a shiney switch, like the fact you just lost 25hp cos your sun strip fell off

Ive got a button in my car that makes about 70-100bhp and it genuinely works aswell :)
