No reason why I can't use XL tyres when they aren't required?
I will need a pair of 215/40/18 and from memory they are 85 load rated. Pirelli do P-Zero Neros and Continental Sport Contact 2's I think, but these are both 89 XL tyres.
They will just give a harder more durable sidewall won't it, which would be better really given the potholes and the low profile of the tyres.
Alternatively I could buy another pair of Hankook Ventus Prime 2 which is what the car shipped with as never had an issue with them....
Edit: Just realised the car has pressure sensors built into the valves. Would these be left in-situ or require replacement with the tyre making it a dealer only job would you think?
