Trying to extract Lenovo laptop drivers to include in our Win 7 build, tried using 7zip and universal extractor, cant see inf using 7zip, universal extractor fails

broadcom wireless lan for thinkpad e530 M3259C5 from here is an example.

anyone any ideas, solution?

run the .exe and wait for the user prompt. now browse the user temp folders to see if the files have been extracted.

if that doesn't work, try going direct to the hardware manufacturers (intel, broadcom, etc). obviously you'll need to find out what components are used.

last resort, install all drivers on to a clean machine and try this. it supposedly finds them all and dumps them in a folder. not tried it myself though.

thanks m8, hopefully not need to resort to mailing vendors etc :-(

^heh, i didn't mean that. i meant the manufacturer support download sections.

for example i just built myself a pc from old parts i bought 2nd hand. it's a gigabyte mobo and i could go straight to them to get the drivers but i didn't. i know from looking at the specs it has an intel chipset and realtek network card. i can go straight to them to get the latest drivers. the same thing should apply with a laptop.

yeah, looks like running the installs and looking in teh extract location is doing the trick :-), cheers m8 if I wasn't an idiot I would have thought of that lol
