Extracting album art from ID3 tags?

Will MediaMonkey do this? I know it will download album art and you can set it to create a jpeg in the folder or add it to the ID3 tag, I don't know if I will copy the album art already in the tag though.

Would that be important for you or would downloading new album art be OK?

I think I'll give that a try.

The Jpegs need to be unhidden and I think someone has written a batch file that will do it.
I haven't used WMP for music in ages, but I seem to remember that when it extracted embedded album art, it would automatically resize the resulting folder.jpg to just 200x200px resolution. Worse, it had a nasty habit of overwriting the embedded art in the files themselves with the resized image without so much as a by-your-leave, which could be annoying to say the least if you've spent ages collecting and/or creating hi-res album art for your music collection.

I'm not sure if this particular "feature" has been fixed now, but I'd be a bit wary, and try it out on some test folders before letting it loose on your main audio library.

As an alternative, much as I'm normally reluctant to recommend iTunes, if you install it along with iTSfv it should do what you want fairly effectively.

WMP will also edit your ID3 tags if you want it to create jpeg images as well as it's just one tick box to let it organise your music collection

I want the images for my car PC.

Ride runner alows JPEG art but does not display hidden album art data unless it gets unhidden.

captaincrash - yes I think it still does keep them at 200x200. Hopefully not too late, but I do not let WMP or iTunes organize or download tag or image information. I control that myself, so WMP can only generate the folder and albumart .jpgs.
