Hi all,

I paid for and downloaded the digital river Office 2007 Ultimate offer the other day and the download was an .exe file around 580mb in size.

When you double click on it, it says its extracting the files for installation.

What I want to try and do, rather than sticking a plain .exe file onto a CD-R is to expand the .exe so I can see everything then create an ISO so the disc looks like a proper Office disc (setup.exe, etc).

Any ideas?

if you have winrar or something similar, you might be able to right click on the .exe and extract the files into a folder.

when you run it, it will probably extract the files into one of your temporary folders. browse there in explorer and try and copy/paste the folder to another location

temporary folders can be in various locations....

\documents and settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\Temp
\windows\temp

sometimes it might even be in the root of the drive in a random named folder.

some of the files like that have extraction option from the command line like the service pack files etc.

personally i owuld try winrar as has been mentioned try renaming the extension to rar.

if that fails google for command line options with the file name
