Got hold of some parts to upgrade my p3 600mhz. So I now have a 2400 Athlon XP and motherboard to go with it.

I have to get a cheapo graphics card now. Should I go for a Second hand 5200, secondhand 6200 or a new 6200. Or a Radion 9250?

The board is only agp x4.

This just to tie me over until I build my new machine later in the year.

Any of the above would do, I'd be on the lookout for a Ti4200 or similar, although older it is still a relatively decent card compared to the 5200, in fact the only thing that the 5200 did better was had DX9 compatability which ironically enough slowed it down. :)

New 6200 would be best. I had one and i could even play CoD2 on it at decent settings. It could even manage BF2 at low-medium settings! So yeah, 6200, good card.

IMO if getting a card like the 6200, you may as well get it second hand :) It will loose less value and save you more money

Cheers People. I think I'll go for a 6200 then. I'd like to play BF2. Also have Slient hunter 3 comming in the post and want to get some kind of combat flight sim IL2, falcon 4.0 or Lock on gold.

Second hand 6200 prices are very similar to what people pay have been paying on auction sites. So I think I'll get a new one.

also if u r interested the 6200 can easily handle vista, my m8's was a beta tester for it and has got it running easily with that card.
