Extreme 4 Gen 3 Faulty Ethernet?

Hi all,

I am pretty sure that the Ethernet port on my Asrock extreme 4 gen 3 board is faulty. I have the driver installed, and have tried several. In windows device manager it says all is ok. But there is no data transfer /lights etc.

Im not too sharp on ethernet diagnosis so not really sure what to try...

help :p
 
I had the exact same problem with my Extreme4 Gen3 recently. Device manager detected it, drivers installed, but it wouldn't pick up the network and as you said, the lights weren't responding.

Ended up buying a cheap Gigabit PCI card and it works now. I could RMA it, but I can't be bothered with the hassle at the minute.
 
Look like exactly the same problem then. I have had it since about october last year, so prob too late for RMA? Might so it when ivy comes out if it isn't too late.

What is a decent Network card to use instead? are there any that are wire and wireless as the combination would be useful for me.
