God what a mess! :D

I guess though that is the 'typical setup of an extreme overclocker, having a neatly cable tied PC is just not on the cards :)

Anyway I glad I saw that picture because I saw something that i had previously thought a bit daft which is the LCD Poster thing at the rear I/O (may not be that actually? could be a seperate temp probe lol!). I've seen a few strange devices start to appear in this area like the LCD Poster and also CMOS reset. I guess this is one of the scenarios where these features prove useful?

I do like the principles involved in open-desk benching, everything right there on the desktop, easy to swap out parts etc but I'm sure you could make the whole kaboodle looks a bit more snazzy. . . . or is it all about the 3DMarks! :p

[edit] also is there a good reason the graphics card? is in the lower slot?

haha that is genius... taking in cold air from ouside... whatever next?!

yes that's right... next step= putting the end in a fridge.

lol i love mods like this. reminds me of the old days when all mod parts would be described on tv as "easily obtained from your local home, garden, or electronic DIY store"

It was a better time, when imagination counted, a time when there was no lame, dubious "gaming cases" and the standard pc colour was beige.. lol

here's one i made earlier...

:D

Man, looks a bit like my setup just without the tube! :o

However, there is a window about 50cm away, I might drop my 120.2 out of it when I get it set up!

Tell you all what, the company I work for uses these:

completely different application, but it shifts are like no tomorrow

:p

I will borrow/nick one and see what results i can get out of it

:p

first, PMSL at the above....

Second... i use to work for a company that made light weight airducting systems for aircraft and I got a load of sub standard stuff and made excelent air cooling ducts... one from window into my PC and one from my PC to the window....
inside my PC was an 80mm delta screamer and an SLK 800 BOLTED onto an XP2800 @ 3500....
120mm delta to drag the cold air (darn cold in winter) into my PC and then take warm air out again....
the case I had was a FULL tower case and when I went to canada... the whole lot went with me... -15 deg C outside... and a duct straight into my PC... oh yes... as I said... PC got sub zero while in canada... lol

As for open air benching.... you should see my server stack...very open air... lol... might have to put up a post about what I done to servers... lol
