hi guys,

i get a huge amount of junk email to my university email (hmm only thing used for is to sign up to this forum...) however i wish to have all emails that are not from selected addresses to be automatically deleted or put in junk mail folders. how can i do this?

thanks

How about setting up a message rule along the lines of, "Match any of the following: From isn't in my Address Book (then specify address book in next field) set junk status to junk/Delete message."?

Also many University mail systems have server-side spam filtering (such as spamassassin) that may have to be enabled/tweaked.

Personally I have a rather complex procmail script that does 2 levels of spam filtering and moves messages from specific sources to particular mail folders ;)
