Extreme Intel i7 Bundle PSU help

Hi Guys,

VERY long time watcher first time poster.

I am looking at finally upgrading my system with the "OcUK Extreme Intel Core i7 4770K @ 4.6GHz+ Extreme Overclocked Bundle"

I am however concerned that my current power supply may not be up to scratch.

My current system is as follows:
E6850 @ 3.9Ghz
AMD 7870 Tahiti LE
120GB SSD
Optical Drive
A Corsair HX 520 watt PSU (CMPSU-520HXUK)

Now my power supply is just over 6 years old now and hasn't failed me in any way; even while running 3 HDD and 2xHD4890 (Holy **** were they hot & loud by the time they were replaced!) which leads me to the idea that it may well be ok.

So really my question is, do you suggest a new power supply and if so which one?

It must be quiet, modular and I am not really looking to SLI or Crossfire.

Also what's the deal with the warranty on this bundle as it seems to promote further overclocking which would have course involve changing settings in the BIOS thus voiding the warranty... ?

I am perfectly willing to overclock as I have done for all mine and friends' builds over the years however I do like the idea of a "guaranteed" overclock to remove the silicon lottery from it all. I am also willing to pay for it.

My 7870 with the Tahiti LE GPU is pretty much as fast as that 7950 anyway, mine clocks upto 1150Mhz no problem.

That's a fair point with "taking a chance" especially since I would be spending rather a lot just to let an old PSU blow and take the motherboard with it.

Also kind of taking back what I have said. I would rather go for an ATX board just on the off-chance that I do decide to at some point go SLI or Crossfire. I was really suggesting that I don't think I need some 1000 watt beast

In the end ive just grown a pair and gone for a Corsair AX760, my thinking being that if I'm going to spend all this money on an amazing bundle there is little point in trying to save a relatively small amount and do something half arsed on the component you trust to safely and reliably power your whole computer!

Also although my current Corsair HX power supply has been rock solid for the past 6 years I have read quite a few complaints about the new Corsair HX650 fan being dodgy. That kinda put me off (undoubtedly stupidly) the whole HX line even though it appeared to only be the HX650 having problems.
