hi all .

is the Intel® Core™2 Extreme processor [email protected] no longer available ?

or has it being replaced with the quad Intel® Core™2 Extreme processor QX6800 ?

or is there a chance Ocuk will get these back in stock ??

if you look around other sellers have this cpu, but it's not worth it's money save yourself some cash and get a 6600 or 6420 and give it a tiny speed hike with a very mild overclock mate!

Im sure it has been phased out by the QX6700.

As harris1986 get a E6600 or a E6420/E6320.

This is my E6320 and I havnt even started yet.

Running at 3.2Ghz now. Cost me £105 and its faster than a X6800 so now basically a £600+ CPU

Obvioulsly that statement if massively dependant on the application.

How so? Its got the same 4mb L2 and a faster bus than the x6800 plus a higher clock speed so it'll own it in everything.

If the application uses all of the cores then it will blow your E6320 out of the water, it has twice the amount of cores.

QX6700 = Quad Core
E6320 = Dual Core

http://www.anandtech.com/cpuchipsets/intel/showdoc.aspx?i=2963&p=5

Therefore for anything that will use the other cores

QX6700 > E6320

the quad core will tear you dual core a new one ;)

I think hes referring to the Dual core X6800 and not the Quad 6700, hence my statement. I've got a Quadcore core 2 Xeon @ 3.2Ghz, ES 6400 at 3Ghz, E6300 at 2.1Ghz (CRAPPY Asrock board) and E6600 @ 3.4 so i know the difference when the cores are utilised.
