1) memory wont work in orange slots above 220mhz
2) Works fine in yellow ( annoying stutter in games and movies )

I basically went through 9 other members that have ballistix trying to get them to work in the orange slots i also went through all other timings with g.skill. What happens is memory is fine from 200 - 220mhz as soon as it goes over that it floods the screen with errors and i can end up with screen corruption, ive gone from the very lowest to the tightest of timings and no change. I also tend to find in orange that it becomes a lot more unstable higher up the fsb range 230+.

In the yellow slots this does not affect me i can go right upto 310FSB but with the memory being between 240-260mhz and no errors 8hrs of memtest passing.... Yet im still getting some odd experiences in windows, a lot of hitching and stuttering in games, movies are jerky.
I did a prime 8hr test and it passed with flying colours

Ive underclocked - default - overclocked the system and no change

Ive tried ide and nvidia drivers no change

This now is a completely clean formatted drive, using sata 2!

Removed soundcard, used onboard no change..

Messed with different voltage settings..

Ive even bought myself a brand new 700 watt ocz thinking it was my psu, it wasnt

I thought it was my old ballistix, rma'd that used g.skill still the same, used my new ballistix and still the same

Lol different keyboard and mouse no change

Even the graphics card i remember this hitching happening before and buying a temp nvidia card and nothing changed.

Thats why i got so fustrated with some users, you'd make like 50 posts and on different forums and then on page 3 it would be " have you put your system to default and have you done such and such ". Its like argg

I even used the dual core tweaks and dual core optimizer i was told about that like 10 times now

It pretty much leaves me with TWO causes

Motherboard or Cpu

But im skint i cant afford to do anything , ive just spent nearly £2000 on my car getting that working and now this! , nobody around me has the same stuff that i do and i cant just remove stuff and send it off rma, i'd be without a system and i need it

correct me if im wrong I thought the RAM runs as fast as your cpu fsb

so if cpu fsb is set to 260fsb

then ram on 1:1 would be 260fsb per stick

what is it you want from your system? for your RAM to run as high as you set it? or for your cpu to be stable?

I tried 200mhz ie 1:1
I tried 166mhz

even 150mhz

Didn't make one bit of difference

My drive is good

Stuttering/pausing in games can be caused by nVidia cards if the Direct3D setting for "Frames rendered ahead" is not set to 0.

I had this problem with my 6800Ultra until I changed that setting to 0. This would also explain why the other nvidia card had the same problems.

In the NV Control Panel, It's under Direct3D, Additional Settings.

Ah oops :o

What exactly is your problem? Are you getting these stutters at any setting, or just when overclocking?

Nothing wrong this psu i bought it brand new expecting it to fix things guess it wasnt a psu problem......

BATTLEFIELD 2 and all its mods play like *** , performance is perfect 65-70fps all the time amazing graphics... but it keeps skipping forward, i walk and suddenly it jumps forward SO ANNOYING. ( this isnt the running stop skip this is actually ground e.t.c skip )

Does it when either underclocked , overclocked or just default.... Ive gone through EVERY memory speed and timing now
