Extremely Expensive Delivery Costs

Hey everyone,

Once again I find myself writing to complain about the extremely high delivery costs for purchasing from OcUk. I live in Gibraltar and frequently purchase from OcUk.

I am trying to buy Benq XL2410T 24" TRUE 120Hz 3D Widescreen LED Monitor - Black solely. About a year ago with DHL this used to cost about 32 pounds. For some reason now it has jumped up to £65.60. This is approximately 28% the value of the product for me (excluding VAT).

For some reason aswell ParcelForce Euro 48 isnt offered as a service either.

The thing I dont understand is I purchased an item from the US which is a larger size and weight than this monitor and it only cost me 14 dollars to deliver via fedex. How can something from the Uk cost soo much to send in comparison?

Wouldnt it be possible for OcUK to investigate using another company to deliver goods to Gibraltar? The extremely high delivery costs are really lowering my interest in purchasing from OcUK. Why are OcUk's delivery costs rising so much in comparison to other companies which offer much lower costs for delivery?

Just to put things into perspective.

Use Google Maps and get directions from OCUK (Post Code is ST5 7UF) to Union Street Aberdeen. This is 377 miles. The cost of petrol according to Google would work out at £71.41 at todays prices.

Remember that Fuel costs in the UK and Europe are 4 to 5 times greater than what they are the the US.

What surprices me is that OCUK can deliver all the system components for a full build from OCUK to Aberdeen for less than £20.

Precisely thats looking at one order in one direction but as we obviously know its not like that with courier companies. There would be many packages orders etc which would be travelling in any direction at any one time. I just cant understand the extremely high costs.

It is a little odd considering Pacelforce do Global 30KG 3 day service for 30Quid or so

you could just choose pick up at store and get parcelforce to collect:P

Precisely Chihero thats what im used to. I find it questionable that the option is totally removed and im left with only the DHL option which has risen in price considerably. Id rather considering I dont live in the UK that OcUK handle that delivery fully themselves, but obviously at a reasonable price :P

I wish OcUK would deliver to Latvia -at all- then I would buy stuff from here, alas it seems not. I miss the UK.

Poland, Lithuania but not Latvia.... just why.... why do you torment me so ?

That has absolutely nothing to do with anything.

OCUK dont deliver anything anywhere, they use companies to do this.

Do you really think that they used 1 van for 1 order?

To be fair, it's not OCuk who price it high, it's the delivery companies. A quote from parcel force to send a sat nav to Gibraltar was over £15 at work the other day.
