Extremely loud noises! :(

Hi thar, when playing certain games (WoW, UT Original...) my sound is absolutely awful, as I turn to look at something, or a rocket flies past my head, or pretty much anything, my speakers fart at me in various degrees of volume and pitch

Anyone have a clue why these things happen?

I have a Creative SBLive 5.1 with the latest drivers I could find (livedrvpack.exe or some such). and 5.1 speakers, also creative.

possibly speakers are clipping?

turn up the volume in game and turn down the volume on your amp.

why would that make a differnce? the speakers will still clip at the same loudness, regardless of the input signal unless its the input signal itself thats clipping. in which case try turning the volume on the pc down, not up.

double check all connections and try reinstalling the sound drivers.

if the amp is dirving the speakers too hard and not much sound coming out, so you need to "saturate" the sound before amplifing it I get what you mean touch, Its the same with guitar amps

Might be the cones bottoming out... does it happen with the speakers turned down to quiet?
