Extremely low budget £200

this build will be mainly used to surf the internet, and do work such as word processing. But i would like it to run smooth so i can do more than one thing at a time.
Things like run itunes, play dvds.

No i do not have anything other than the peripherals and the OS.

I will need everything, such as:
Motherboard
PSU
CPU
Case
Opticle Drive
RAM
HDD
and anything else i may have missed out.

Even buying the cheap components it comes out over £200 :(

Maybe someone else will rustle something up for cheap, saying there there is a value bundle for £100 I think

The cpu and motherboard you have chosen have different sockets so its not going to work.

Problem is OcUK doesn't sell a cheap case+psu combo.

You can get a cheap case ( MS-Tech or so) + 430w PSU ( a bit enthusiastic spec, it's probably 300 ish watts, but more than enough if you don't have a dedicated gpu which draws a lot off the 6 pin plug) for 30 quid...

60 for PSU + case in a sub 200 pc is taking the pee... 30 max for both, MS-Tech LC-10 is absolutely fine for a basic pc with a dual/quad core, a light gpu ( one that manages on the power off the pcie slot), 1 hdd, 1 dvd, etc...
Secondly, definitely go 2nd hand with mobo+cpu+ram, better get a q6600 or so over a new gen Celeron imho.

No reason to go for the expensive new sockets imo. Or expensive cases and psu's.

I wouldn't touch those cheap case/psu combos. Tbh 60 for psu + case is fine when you think about how much people spend on them in higher budget pc's. 100 pounds plus each in some instances. He could probably find something different elsewhere but from ocuk's choice I think those are fine for his needs.

g530 is a great cpu for its price and has integrated graphics

He won't get a used q6600 for 30 pounds, and he'll have to get a cooler for it. It's always nice to get new instead of used too not to mention lower power consumption.

If you can, buy a used cpu, case and RAM, as it doesnt matter if these components are used or not tbh. Buy a new PSU/GFX/MOBO/HDD for warranty reasons.

Socket AM3 may be a good option for you, 775 is abit long in the tooth now but not terrible. I haven;et taken a look, but maybe a cheap llano combo may be use?
