Ok here is my new system which i picked up today:

EVGA 680i Sli Motherboard
e6600
1gb corsair ddr2 (2 x 512)

In med 2 i was getting extremely poor performance on this system:

dfi lan party sli
x2 3800
2gb mem

and now after all of this nothing has changed,

the computer is still trying to limit me to 4040 troops and i get roughly 10fps in close up view.

can someone help me out?

Well, I'm not too familiar with that game, but if you are trying to get more units on screen, I would imagine the limiting factor would be RAM.

Have you installed all the latest drivers? Chipset drivers especially.

The rest of your system is excellent.

thanks mate your very helpful here.

so once i have done this i will need to do this:

graphics drivers ( 97.92) Is that correct?
sound card drivers

currently on download.

are there any other drivers i should download?

Yup that's correct. I can't think of anything else you would need to do. The recommended way you would install the drivers would be.

Uninstall your current display drivers
Install chipset drivers
Install display drivers
Install sound drivers (whichever make you have)

And reboot between each step. :)

It will be listed under Add/Remove in the control panel. It will be nVidia something.....it's been so long since I've used nVidia stuff I can't remember what it's listed as. It will be in there though under nVidia... :)

EDIT: That's assuming you have installed the nVidia drivers before, which I think you have as you've tried your game!

I forgot that before on an older system, it took me a while to catch on.
It felt like it was stuck in glue however sometimes when I installed the chipset drivers the system still wouldn't be very quick, I had to change the order in which I installed all the different drivers.

You did do an OS reinstall after your upgraded right? That could be your problem if you didn't although I don't see how it could have been avoided if you switched from AMD to Intel unless you just did a repair install?
