I am after an extremely quiet PSU that is modular, doesn't have to be a power beast and is reasonably priced.

Corsair with Gold Rating and above are extremely quiet, especially at idle.
Power range from 650 - 1200W, they are expensive but IMO are worth it and will last.
Also Corsair customer service is very very good. The fan was starting to make a small rattling sound in my HX1000 so i emailed corsair for a fan replacement however because doing it myself would void the warranty they offered to replace the entire unit. I couldn't be bothered to send to power supply to i just bought a 140 apache and i am controlling via 4pin PWM via motherboard so mine it virtually inaudible (i don't recommend this if you don't know what your doing) however its nice know the offer was there.

Did Corsair offer to pay your post cost of £30-40 to Netherlands?
Did they offer to send you a replacement, then you send defective unit back for free?

I have Corsair PSUs and am happy with them but not having in country RMA makes their warranty service quite expensive with post costs and 10 day + wait.

Maybe I got spoiled while working in America where customer service is sending out replacement with free pickup return post for defective piece.
