I just bought an X-rite Eye-One Display 2 to calibrate my monitors.

I have tested it on XP and OSX and all seems to work OK, using easy and advanced mode.

The problem is when I try and calibrate my 2001FP monitor using Vista U 64 bit.

When I use Eye-One Match in vista, I get to the dialog box "Postion Eye-One" and click to continue I get an error......

"Eye-One position detection failed! Do you want to continue anyway?"

The drivers seemed to have installed OK.

Any thoughts?

It's a Vista issue as I get the same in Vista32, when the message pops up select to continue anyway and calibration will complete just fine.

This message only refers to the position detection in the software so it doesn't have to run calibration by displaying the colours over the whole screen but just the section the probe is seated over.

Usually detection works fine on the second test onwards if you select continue anyway on the first test (contrast calibration)

Hey thanks for the confirmation.

As this is my first time can you confirm a couple of basic things for me.

1.
When I open Eye-One Match 3 the first box allows you to select various devices to profile. Even though I have a scanner and printer attached these are grayed out and I am only able to select the monitor.
Is this normal, or am I missing a step as I would like this devices calibrated to sync with the calibrated monitor?

2.
I take it that once Eye-One Match has finished calibrating that's it I do not need to manually do anything else.

.

No idea about the scanners etc, I think they have to be Eye-One compatible or something perhaps!

As for the calibration completion, yep that's it, when it gives you the message saying that calibration is complete and profile set to default that's it. You can start the completion process by clicking finish or the right arrow on Eye-One Match 3.

The arrow button is best because it returns you to the main screen where you can click help > monitor valibator where you will be able to measure the calibrated screen over time to see what the delta A values are (the lower the better)

embalalse you have a realy short memory as i told you about this same problem not 2 weeks ago when i bought it!!

go to the i1 website download the latest drivers for vista 64, load them, if it still doesn't work, go into system control panel and the i1 will have the yellow blob on it to say it is not working, right click and tell it to update the drivers and that is it!

Yes you are absolutley right! I do have a very bad memory, but in my defense, since your other post I bought an eye-one, downloaded and updated with the latest driver, I have no yellow errors in the device manager, but still got the error message using Vista.
I should have used the original thread, but after spending too much time trying to resolve it I got a little "stir-crazy" and posted for some intant help. I have emailed tech support. Will post if I have news...

Oh and just to make sure we are all on the same page, the latest driver I found was...

32 & 64-Bit Drivers for Win2000, XP, and Vista v2.40 21/08/2006 which giving the date is not recent.

Ok read the blub you mentioned. I see they do state there's a new driver will give a go.
Ignore mesage above. Got it wrong again.

However I pretty sure, as I am already running 3.6.2 the included driver is the one I used to remove the yellow errors in the device manager.
well give it another go though.

Thanks for the imput gadget, but I am back to sq 1.

I was already running the latest driver, but just to check I re-installed 3.6.2. The driver updated again, but still got the error message.
I guess some people like me and mrk are effected and others are not.
