Hi everyone, i've just bought 2 Asus monitors to go with my third and planned on running 3 way monitor display, however i can only get 2 monitors to be detected by the card? I was told my overclockers I wouldn't need anything other than the monitors i bought and the ATI 6950, am i missing something? I've read about a display port or something however like stated above, i was told i would have everything i needed to run eyefinity?

How stulid said to do it with 1 connected to the display port with an Active adapter is how i do 3 screens with my 6870 the other 2 are DVI

the card you linked said its supplied with a mini display port to HDMI i assume the monitors dont have HDMI input?

Thanks for the reply - The 2 asus montiors i just bought yesterday both have 1 HDMI slot and 1 DVI and one VGA - Graphics card has 2 DVI 1 HDMI - 1 DP.

So basically i'm stuck with using a VGA display port? Must admit this really has ruined my weekend I have no idea why the technician on the end of the line told me I would need nothing other than what i purchased ;(

Theres no other way, only the FLEX card can run multiple screens without adapters as it has extra circuitry on the card to do this (there is I think some ASUS card that can do a few screens also).

Or buy another 6950 for crossfire and then you can run a screen of the other card.

I would try and find the displayport to DVI version of that adapter.

yer i have a Active display port to DVI - cant remember if i purchased it on this site or not.. i believe they did stock them at some point in the past

I believe so but they don't seem to anymore, and I've searched a few shops and it looks like i'll be waiting over a week for one to be delivered, really ruined my weekend.

I don't believe you can do that.

My understanding is that with Crossfire you can only use the outputs from one card.

You can use the outputs from a second card if they're not Crossfired but then that wouldn't be any use for Eyefinity.

I trust what you say, thought you could just like nvidia do it. If not then I know for next time.

I'll try and find the DVI Displayport adapter however everywhere i've found so far gives a rough estimate of 2 weeks delivery  Overclockers, why don't you blooming sell them! *Angry fist*

Trying putting "Sapphire Active Display Port to Single Link DVI Adaptor" into google shopping search...there's a well-known shop selling it at £17.49 with free delivery...and should take no more than a few days.
