Eyefinity: 5870 3x 24"... Apple Adapter?

one of them has to use DP, IIRC the hdmi is actually linked to the DVI, so you can't use all 3 at once

This is a minefield tbh, the only active adapter that works with eyefinity is the Sapphire one.

Numerous reports of people trying other adapters and having problems so if you dont have a DP enabled monitor use the Sapphire active DP converter!

if you just want the plasma connected why not just use HDMI?

Look up, there's a video of some one getting the active Apple one working with 3 30" monitors.

Got a spare monitor I coudl stea for a while and located one for a decent price.

Hi just to confirm that the apple dual link adaptor works fine(expensive but works)

I got the
Titan 8500i Decimator" Intel 4.00GHz Six Core System and his 6950 at xmas from oc. Last week the 22" aoc led monitors were on sale so bought three. Then got sent the wrong display adaptor from other site. So got the apple one hooked it up worked fine. (tho it didnt like a belink dvi cable for some reason).

Looks amazing with compatible games. Running at 6000x1080 for bezels on screen. Dirt 3 runs with everything turned up at 49-66 fps

Sorry if its been pointed out, just quick reading but just so you know not all active adaptors need a second USB power cable, the sapphire active mini DP cable i have is powered from the cable and works great in eyefinity, can be had for £20ish

Is that the standard DP cable?, i had the mini DP cable, also with postage what did it come to £20ish i guess, was really just saying it should be no more than, as some go for crazy money £100+.

I actually only got hte apple one as it was 2nd hand from m8. Its £70 new from Apple store.
The saphire one worked fine and bargain price. Some silly £100 prices for other active ones

Also, eyefinity Does work with different sized monitors. Keep seeing posts saying they have to be the same. Never had a problem with 2x 20 + 23

Someone said about a passive one working, i wouldn't be shocked to find out a passive one works if you have less than two monitors, but honestly not sure. it will not work for Eyefinity.

I've got 3 monitors running off my 5770 Mac Pro.

2 x 19"
1 x Apple Display (23" ish??)

It uses the eyefinity connector, some cheapy adaptor one from an electronic bay.

I think what people say is it doesn't work with monitors of different resolutions not different sizes.

Though I think there are ways around this and it may be changing.
