Eyefinity accell minidisplay port to DVI adapter.

Well I just received my eyefinity adapter that I found using the ATI website (Certified for use with eyefinity) And behold, it doesn't work...

I'm quite frustrated because I had to order the thing from the USA... took 2 weeks to get here and it doesn't even work.. :mad:

It works when on the windows loading screen, then just goes black. I've even tried the firmware update, not joy with that either and that was hard because it has to be the only screen plugged in while trying to run the updater.

Maybe just a duff adapter but I'm hoping not.. Any suggestions?

Does anyone have any experience with the Startech USB Powered Mini DisplayPort to DVI Dual-Link Active Adapter?

OR StarTech Mini DisplayPort to DVI Active Adapter - DVI adapter - dual link - mini-DisplayPort (M) - DVI-D (F) - 20 cm ( DisplayPort 1.1 ) - black?

Its definitely not my screen, tested on different ports.

Have you tried a different USB port to supply the power?

It was one that didn't require a USB power supply, it was recommended by ATI though :/

Nevermind, a friend of mine had one a proper one. Tried it and it works perfectly, Ordering one soon.

I assume you didn't buy an active adapter which is what you need.
