Have had an Eyefinity setup for a while now and have to say, I am loving it. Makes simming so much better and EVE is a breeze with 6 million windows open, or 3 clients side by side....

Whilst it does not annoy me and I can live with it, I have been pondering on taking a Dremmel to the bezels on my monitors so as to be able to reduce the visible bezels.

Have had a look on Google to see if i can find a schematic / blown up diagram of my monitors (Benq HDBL 24" jobbies), but cant find anything.

Has anyone on here ever removed the plastic outer casing and attempted what I am planning? If so, how did it go and were teh results worth the effort / sphincter moment?

If idid go ahead, next step would be a 3 monitor mount to hold them all together and off the desk, but one step at a time........

If I do go ahead, will do a mod blog on here about it, with pics and all.

I removed the plastic casing on my monitors for eyefinity and then built a wooden frame to hold them. Reduced the bezels massively.

I would be a bit worried about taking a dremel to the monitors though

most monitors that I've taken apart have stuff behind the bezel, so all you would save would be the thickness of the bezel material i.e. about 1-2 mm. You won't get true bezeless-ness as the tft screen itself will have non image displaying part of it around it's edge, even if you did find air behind the bezel.

Was kind of expecting to have a thin bit on either side as have taken apart many a laptop and have seen this, so know that true bezel-less set-up wont be achievable.

The dremmeling would be to remove the edges of the edges as the monitor controls are part of the bottom casing, so cant have them just dangling in the air.

Think i will have an exploratory look-see tomorrow when i get home from work to see what is what inside them......pics to follow
