Eyefinity - Display port usage required if using crossfire? [solved]

Hi,

might be a stupid question. Using a single GPU and tripple screen eyefinity would require to use max 2x dvi and once the display port. When using crossfire is it possible to use a third dvi connector from the 2nd GPU?

Regards,
Konzul

When crossfire supports eyefinity it should be possible.

Where have you been.
http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/ATICatalyst912Hotfix.aspx
2. Support for ATI CrossFireX™ on Eyefinity configurations

§ The ATI Catalyst™ 9.12 Hotfix release provides ATI CrossFireX™ support on Eyefinity configurations, allowing users to take advantage of their additional graphics cards for increased gaming performance when driving high resolution Eyefinity display groups.

And we will have to wait & see if EF works across multiple card ports with CF.

Yep crossfire is supported now. But you still have to plug everthing into the top card. Ive got the displayport for the middle screen, and the two outer screens through dvi. With my Xfire 5770's im getting 50fps in shift, 40 in CODMW2 and 100 in wow. Thats on max settings, so the crossfire is supported very well, even though its just only been released, and can only get better:)

Thank you very much for your feedback.....

I had hoped I could avoid the need for DP... well well...
