I've have 3 120hz monitors but i didnt know till setting it up that ive only got 1 dvi port on each of my 5850 cards.

As far as i know you can only plug into 1 card when in xfire, so im left with 1 dvi,1 hdmi and 1 displayport.

hdmi 1.4 does 120hz but the 5850s are hdmi 1.3 doh, so i guess thats 120hz out for now

Anyway, I've got eyefinity set up but the screen connected by hdmi looks blurry and there's a black border around screen?

Its not the monitor as ive swapped them and its the same whn running from hdmi port?

Any ideas?

thanks

The middle monitor is connected by hdmi, you can see theres a black border around the screen, how do i fix this?

Cheers

I had the EXACT same problem on my monitors. Although swapping from HDMI to DVI fixed it. I have a feeling that the HDMI output can't handle 1920 x 1080 res (well that's what mine was running at).

Problem is my 5850s only have 1 dvi, so i have to use the hdmi, what a nightmare.

Also all monitors have the same settings, the dvi and displayport monitors look the same but the hdmi doesn't, its more blurry and the colours different.

HDMI's been scaled down, hence why it looks blurry as the image has been compressed. It's an annoying common problem with both Nvidia and AMD. Luckily you can fix this by going into the control panel.

You need to go to the overscan settings here:

Then next step, I would check to see if there's any pixel mapping options on the monitors. Another option to consider also is a HDMI to DVI adapter. Which 5850 model do you have?

I can't check at the moment but can you select the different monitors in the CCC?

Presumably only the monitor connected with HDMI will have the scaling option enabled.

all done thanks.

i had to disable eyefinity and the other 2 monitors, then i could more the bar in to overscan, then renabled monitors and eyefinity.

Thanks for all your help.

Awesome i shall give mine a try. Would save me buying a shorter DVI cable when i have an adequate length HDMI. Cheers for asking :D
