Eyefinity Monitor Set-up Limits?

What's the limit for how many 1080p monitors you can use with eyefinity? Am I right in thinking it would be 24 with 4 separate "Eyefinity 6 Edition" cards?

What's the maximum width/height you can do? Is it possible to have 24 monitors wide and just 1 in height? (46080x1080 lol)
Or 24 high and 1 in width?

No that I plan to do either of these just curious

Just make sure you have more than 2GB of GGDR5 for eyefinity. I'm planning to achieve 3840x2160, waiting OLED monitors to get cheaper, 2012 might be a good year.
