At the moment I have 2 Dell U2410s (1920x1200). I'm going to build a new computer soon and am looking at eyefinity. Now I dont really fancy shelling out £450 on another U2410 so I was just going to get a cheap £150 24" monitor.

Unfortunately they all now seem to run 1920x1080, would this cause a problem with eyefinity or would they all just switch to a single resolution of 1920x1080 (with 1:1 pixel mapping) on each monitor for gaming and then switch back to their native resolutions for non-gaming?

I had a quick google but most of the results seemed conflicting/out of date.

Thanks.

In order to run Eyefinity you need all three monitors to run the same resolution, so yes, the Dells will default to 1920x1080. Not sure if it'll be 1:1 pixel mapping, it depends on the monitor itself.

When in non-Eyefinity mode (just normal extended desktop), each monitor will run at their own native resolutions.

Is switching between eyefinity mode and non-eyefinity (extended) seamless and automatic or does it require a reboot/manual settings change?

switching between extended and eyefinity is easy enough when you save the profiles in ccc just one click and its done, someone here did say it can be done through windows but cant remember how

Just go to CCC and enable eyefinity (you have to choose the monitor you want to create a group for and add the others). Takes about 5 seconds. Then click ungroup eyefinity monitors to go back to normal.

In order to use bezel compensation, the monitors should be exactly the same size as reported by their EDIDs, or you'll need to create special modified INF files to fool CCC into thinking you have same size.
