So i know all three monitors need to be same orientation and resolution. But i've also read you can force the largest res to be same as smallest res to get eyefinity to work.

Does this mean then I will see only 1920x1200 on my 27 (2560x1440)?

And will eyefinity ever support multi res monitors completely?

1) Yes - it will only support the lowest resolution, so your hi res 27 will be forced to run at the non-native lower res to get it to work at all

2) no idea, AMD haven't said it will and I wouldn't have thought so - in the graphics card with 3 monitor it basically renders the entire width as one scene, so how would it do 6400x1200 but with a bit of 1440 in the middle - either render as 1200 and you'd have letter box on the middle monitor or 1440 for the whole lot meaning you are rendering a load of pixels you don't need to render for either side

it would be a nightmare to try to implement and AMD's driver support is sketchy enough as it is with crossfire

Doesn't the new Catalyst do this?

From the AMD FAQ page on eyefinity

Can I support different resolutions?

All monitors running in a Display Group or cloned modes must be running with the same resolution. If monitors have different native resolutions, the highest common non-native resolution between the monitors will be used when creating Display Groups. Monitors running in extended desktop mode can have independent resolutions.

(You need "Display Group" to do eyefinity gaming afaik)

Ok thanks for the replies, just a query.

I would have got another 24" if i really wanted eyefinity. But I opted for a higher res for work and extra hd gaming. Reading about how good eyefinity is, thought i'd give it a go if i could. But im not too bothered.
