Eyefinity Problem with 5870 and 3 Monitor Setup

I had my old desktop for almost 6 years and with SC2 and Diablo 3 coming out, which are the only real games I've wanted to play on a PC in years, I decided it was time for a new PC! Initially I was thinking of getting a gaming laptop but when I saw that I could get a nice eyefinity setup for less money I figured I had to go for that!

I ended up buying the Ultima Viper with a 5870 card and 3 x BenQ G2420HDBL Monitors so I could try out Eyefinity. In order to get Eyefinity setup I got a Bizlink DisplayPort to DVI (Dual Link) Adapter.

Anyway I've set up all the monitors now but for some reason the monitor that is linked to the Display Port adaptor keeps "switching off" or at least trying to "redetect the signal" every 20/30 secs which is a tad annoying!

I've tried switching DVI cables, monitor power cables around to see if it was an hardware issue, but no matter what I do always the monitor connected to the Display Port Adaptor keeps switching on/off. That means that possibly the problem lies with the Display Port Adaptor itself.

I've done some research and the best thread I found relating to this issue is:
http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=64&t=17012

After having read this thread it seems like other people are experiencing the same problem, even with different makes of Display Port Adaptors. It sounds like one of the solutions that worked for quite a few of the guys was to flash the BIOS on their graphics card (on page 6, 2nd comment).

I'm really not that clued up with how to flash a Graphics Card BIOS but I believe it is pretty risky and if it doesn't work it could ruin my Graphics card, which makes me think that flashing the Graphics Card BIOS is not worth doing or is it a common thing? Also the post was made a while ago, would the settings in that .bin file still be the same now that there are new ATI drivers out?

Has anyone else come across this problem or does anyone have an suggestions on how I could resolve this problem?

Been doing some more messing around and found something interesting. When I change the resolution to 4800 x 900 then all 3 monitor work fine. I then change it back to 5760 x 1080 and they keep working!

The only difference I could see when changing resolutions was that when I change to 4800 x 900 it says the following:
"Input DVI"
"Nonpreset Mode"

When I change to 5760 x 1080 it says the following:
"Input DVI"

So for some reason when it goes to 4800 x 900 it uses a "Nonpreset Mode" which seems to solve the problem. Is there a way I can force "Nonpreset Mode" in 5760 x 1080 when my PC loads up, otherwise I will have to keep chane to 4800 x 900 and back to 5760 x 1080 every time I boot up which is not the end of the world!
