Eyefinity problem with 6970 lightening

Hi

I bought 3 x 24" monitors to use Eyefinity on my 6970 lightning but I can't get anymore than 2 of them to work at any one time.

My monitors have HDMI and DVI connections, I have a mini display port to HMDI adapter which I am using and I have plugged the other 2 in using DVI to HDMI cables that came with the monitors but only 2 will ever work, the mDP and a DVI I know all 3 work and have tested the cables which are all fine.

I have updated my GFX card drivers to the latest.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks

Just found some info from a 5970 setup which says I need an active display port adapter but mine is passive :(

I guess that is still the case on the 6970?

Edit: I have the Startech MDP2HDMI which doesn't appear in their supported list but othe Startech passive adapters do.

Don't take this as gosbal but you can get around the active display adapter thing by using a VGA to display port adaptor instead which are a lot cheaper then the Sapphire DVI to display port ones. Just do a bit on searching on google before going ahead with this though or maybe one of the other members can verify this.

Thanks, on the Eyefinity site it says the DVI and VGA version of the adapter I Have are supported just not the HDMI one I have, typical eh? :)

OcUK have a HIS Active Mini DisplayPort to Single Link-DVI Eyefinity Adapter for £23 which I don't mind buying if that is the problem.

Hopefully someone can confirm?
