Hi.
I realise there are tons of theads all over the net on eyefinity and tearing, (as iv found out tonight reading for past few hours)..
However I just wanted to get you guys opinions:
I have 3 x 24" (1920x1200) monitors all with DisplayPort. I have just purchased a Powercolor 7990 which has 2 miniDP and DVI.
I am looking at purchasing a 7970 so I can triFire, specifically I was looking at the powerColor 7970 so they matched (no sensible reason for this I know as the branding is only the stickers really).. I was going to use the 7970 as the connected card for all monitors so the 7990 powersaves when idle.
Key Point:
Should I be looking at getting a 7970 such as the HIS/XFX which have 4 miniDP ports so I can then *potentially* rule out any tearing issues as I will be DP all the way across all three monitors or should I continue to look at the powercolor using 2x mini DP and 1x DVI because.. the latest catalyst drivers have sorted this out??
Suppose this is why im asking really.. has the lates drivers sorted these isues out or at last made headway into resolving tearing issues?
Any advice appriciated.
Cheers.
James.
