Eyefinity U2311h Displayport to mini displayport cable.

I just got 2 of my 3 u2311h's for an eyefinity setup off the bay for £273, and as i am running 3 monitors, plus a tv through dvi/hdmi, i will need 2 mini dp to dp cables. i'm wondering which ones i need.

As for a which cables to connect to the full-size DP port on the second dell then unfortunately OCUK doesn't stock any of the correct cables so I can't give you a link. However, if you search google for "Startech Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort Adapter Cable 1.8m" then you should find what you need.

should any cable like that work then? and is it only the DVI adapters that i have to worry about being active/passive?

Yes, this just switches pins around and the video signal receive by the monitor is the same one sent out by the graphics card - with the active DP to DVI adapter it has to convert the video signal to something different.

If you've got monitors with DP inputs you don't have to worry about the passive/active adapters and all that. The cables "Andi" recommended work fine, a friend of mine uses them for his Eyefinity set up with no problems.

Have you actually received the monitors yet? I've got 3x Dell 2408s myself, and each one came with a full size DP cable, you might get some with your new monitors, doesn't your graphics card have mini-DP adapters?

the u2311h doest come with adapters for DP and neither does the gpu
