Will this work, I'm trying it tonight and would like to brace myself in case it wont.5870 GPU for eyefinity.
Monitors are a Dell 2709w (displayport input 1920x1200) Hanns-G 28" (DVI to HDMI 1920x1200) and a Dell 3007 (Dual DVI 2560x1600 but I can drop to 1920x1200 if they all need to be the same res)

I'm pretty sure that they'll all need the same resolution, but connector-wise it looks like you'll be OK.

They will work if they're the same resolution, however it'll look crap as the pictures on the screens will look different sizes and they won't line up with each other.

I realise they wont line up, but the hanns-G is going to be replaced with another 2709w, I hope it looks passable, I cant bear to give up my 30"

if you don't want to lose your 30", buy 2 more of them ;) otherwise it's going to be horrible to use

buy 2 more 30" lol like thats ever gonna happen, I only have this one cos i got it for £500, besides I'd need the 6000 series before it could handle that eyefinity res in a a single GPU and even then it would probably need a 6990

it wont work

you will be able to run 3 screens providing one of them has displayport but they all need to be the same resolution for eyefinity.

it will work, just the 30" will have to run at the same resolution and will look terrible :D until they make eyefinity be able to overscan or something

They will work fine :)

I would stick the 30" in the middle and the other 2 on the sides, you probably won't notice the size different too much but that 27" might look a little odd.

You could get two 21" 4:3 aspect ration monitors (1600*1200) and have them either side of the 30" in portrait mode, should line up perfectly.

That's what I thought, was just intrigued if due to them only being set on a single row, if it only needed the height to be the same.

OT but I'm sure someone on a forum somewhere has a wide center and two 4:3 on the sides, when the DP to VGA craze started

There are people who run monitors in such a way, however, monitors have to be running the same res for them to work with Eyefinity at the moment.

on a dual DVI 30" screen it will auto detect and run at 2560x1600

you can try running eyefinity by reducing the res but i dont think ccc will like it. Wouldnt work when i tried it in october with 2 24" screens and 1 30"

For anyone interested it does work, 2709w on DP, Hanns G 28" and 3007 30" Via DVI. displaygroup set up as 5760x1200, lineup isnt perfect but its close enough for me to know it would be worthwhile having 3x27" displays and it adds to immersion. Played L4D2,CODMW22,DIRT2 and GTAIV. Framer rates are down from my previous setup of GTX280SLI but thats to be expected, once crossfire eyefinity is ubiquitous I'll head in that direction. Hope this helps someone with different sized displays that wants to put their toe in the water of Eyefinity
