can some one please point me in the right direction as to which active display port i need for 3 monitors eyefinity with a 6970 and all 3 monitors have hdmi.

There's a list of AMD approved adapters here.

They don't list any active DP or miniDP to HDMI adapters.

Do the monitors have DVI connections?

no they only have vga or hdmi

i used the his model bought from overclockers and works fine but im not sure if they sell them anymore, if not a quick google of his or sapphire active displayport to dvi adapter should point you in the right direction, for instance a well known action site might be of help but give overclockers a call they might be able to help first
