awesome program, simple and can encode to any codec, and can do it to swf and create the html file for you.

can select sections of the screen or the whole thing, and assign keyboard shortcuts so you can record, pause, stop

class program, even runs fine on a crappy 256mb celeron laptop

best of all, freeware

i used ffdshow to encode on the fly to xvid, the only way i can tell it's encoding is the small yellow F in the tray (in a good way)
 
Somebody just did a sweary in your title. Presumably the mods testing the word filter. It starred out the word when viewing the thread but not when looking at the thread titles in the forum.
 
The Techsmith Screen Capture Codec included with Camtasia Studio is meant to be very good, if you try a demo of the software. Site link

It's a commerical equivalent to the Camstudio software.
 
camstudio rendering to huffyuv (lossless codec) then into virtualdub to whatever codec, like the people above I use it at work for making tutorials.
