Right I need 2 identical pc's for around £600 each, I don't need any monitors, keyboards or mice or speakers. 1 Computer needs a case + Hard drive and both need PSU's.

What can you recommend?

He wanted a new pc and he is buying me one for my birthday because we don't live together and mine is toast :(

You are joking right? Have you any idea what the rails are like on generic PSU's?

i use it its fine and what does ralis mean???

If you look on the side of the PSU there should be a sticker with something like

+3.3v +5v +12v -12v +5vsb

and then a load of amperage readings underneath them :) I think the recommended minimum for the +12v rail was 24A :cool:

Seriously though, you can't run a PC of that spec on a 350W PSU and a generic one at that.

Change the Maxtor hard drives out for either a Samsung or one of the new Segates if you can afford it and you'll have a very nice spec :)

Why that case? Seen the Akasa Zen White/Black Case (here)?

Like mentioned before, change the Maxtor to a Samsung. They've not been good lately (i.e. Maxtor's) :(

IMHO a X1800XT's & 580W PSU are OTT for the 'web browsing' PC, but its your money, e.g. if you reduced graphics you can get a E6400 which almost wipes the floor (see here) :)

Rest looks good :cool:

I will be changing case because I didn't see that one and will change the hard drive.

I heard the E6300 was a good clocker and I am going to overclock as high as I can get so I want a decent power supply, plus its a silent psu.

This is to comp builder but as we cant pm...
Mobo = fine
CPU = AMD, why?
Gfx = 7900GT, why? Just get X1800XT, its better and a lot cheaper...
RAM = He can get 2GB in his budget easy.
Case = With the money he has saved he can get a better case =).
CD Drive = Unnessercary, only real point in getting a DVD Drive
PSU = Terrible

"i just noticed you wanted psu's so what i would do is buy 2 of those cases and use the psu's out of them."
Umm? But they are generic and suck.

I dont think this is a personal threat but I dont think you should start recommending "bad" systems or atleast systems which could be a lot better. Plus its skt939 not AM2!

M0T, why do you want to overclock a system which main purpose is for web browsing? I'm guessing you chose an X1800XT because you wanted your system to last a little longer?

If I overclock it it will go faster...

My current pc is an xp1800 running at 2 ghz and all I do is browse the web all day and play the occasional game and its been like that since I got it.

Its just because I can really.

I don't think you will notice much difference if you overclock though. Maybe it will load 0.1s faster or something.
