After all these years I've still not scratched my itch to watercool, an I know it's relatively pointless now with air cooling and aio's being easily available... but... there is still that itch :o

I've seen phanteks ez-fit being touted as one of the cheapest/simplest ways to build a fully water cooled system, short of doing it and old school DIY build, question is, that true?

You already said it, it's pretty pointless now. The thing is that overclocking is largely dead now which was the main point of watercooling. These days we underclock our cpu's and gpu's meaning less voltage and less heat but also means that cpu's and gpu'd boost higher and for longer. Custom watercooling is ridiculously expensive these days and that money is better off being spent on better components such as a better gpu or cpu. This is from someone who did high end custom watercooling for over 17 years before getting rid of it all and getting a £30 Thermalright air cooler for the cpu instead and using the already good stock gpu cooler.

By all means go for it if you really want to, it's your money after all but just remember for the price it will cost for decent watercooling components you could have a better pc instead.

Depends on why you want it.

I watercooled years ago, so kept it for my new build as I already had the kit and a 40 quid cpu waterblock was the same as a cheap air cooler anyway

If you want to chase all the frames then yeah as above other than pbo tweaking overclocking is just about dead, you can still squeeze a littl out of gpus but it doesnt always help

What watercooling does do is bring with it lower temps and a quieter system. my 3090 never goes above 55c pulling nearly 450w when fully loaded my 7600 at 5.4ghz tops out at about 75c all while my fans are chilling around 7/800 rpm, based on a 37c water temperature.

Could I achive simliar performace with air, maybe, would it be as cool and quite, most deffo not
