EZ Overclock?

Hi there!

Hope you're all having a wonderful Christmas btw.

So I installed a new mobo, cpu and RAM today. I was planning on OC'ing straight but unfortunately my AC Freezer 13 broke on it's journey to my house.

I went into the BIOS today, and saw a feature called EZ OC? It looks very promising, with a 5% OC all the way to 50%.

My question is: Does this work?

I don't want to go and have a bash of it yet (inc. the reason that I don't yet have a good cooler) until I know it's good.

The only reason why I would rather use this is cos' I've never OC'd a CPU before and would feel uncomfortable espically knowing what I did to my 8600GT and my friends 6600GT.

I also would like to get my RAM to 1600 MHz

Thanks in advance, iBSOD

Manual overclocking is generally better. Often programs and features tend to compensate in areas such as voltage, and set them a lot higher than they need to be. However, there's no harm in giving it a go for a small overclock. Post back here what settings it uses and we'll see if it's any good.

Rather manual myself. The EZ overclock etc.. as said tends to overcompensate and might give you higher than necessary voltages/temps and might even overvolt to the point of permanent damage.
